Jessica Wilson makes it awkward again and the girlies are shocked when they aren't applauded for medically-induced weight loss
Nutrition Drama Spotlight 🔦
You need to listen to the three part series of Jessica Wilson’s Making It Awkward podcast. If you don’t have time, here’s the recap.
Episode 1: The Dr. Wiss Interview
Dr. Wiss dives deep into food addiction, ultra-processed foods, and ED treatments. One positive takeaway? His idea of offering nutrition recommendations on a spectrum. But hold on—his interpretation skews heavily towards food essentialism, totally ignoring Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and the complexities of food choices. It's drenched in healthism. He sounds convincing, but there’s a lot to unpack here.
Episode 2: The Molly Robbins Call-Out
Molly Robbins unpacks, washes, folds, and puts away episode one. She meticulously dissects every study Dr. Wiss mentioned, revealing that NONE OF THEM ACTUALLY SUPPORT HIS CLAIMS. It's a mic-drop moment. Chefs kiss! Dr. Wiss wrote an extensive blog post to counter her counterpoints, but let's be real— it is giving being “bullied” for his questionable claims and opinions.
Episode 3: Jessica's Recap
Jessica wraps it all up with her thoughts on the 'science-ification' of junk food and a breakdown of the controversial NOVA food classification system.

She sounded disappointed, almost deflated. Now, overhauling your nutrition and prioritizing exercise is no small feat. We all know that. Yet, here she was, unhappy with how others perceived her “work,” in light of her use of a GLP-1.
So I found myself wondering, why? Why does she seem so disappointed? What is it about the intersection of effort and assistance that leaves her feeling so unfulfilled? And why is this discourse so reminiscent of the Nepo baby conversation?
